Five going on 13

Now that Lyric is 5 1/2, and is in his last year of Kindergarten, he has taken on some new responsibilites that also allow for a great teaching on the real world. WEEKLY ALLOWANCE and CHORES. Those would include such things as making his bed every morning and rinsing the dishes.
I have to say, since he has turned 5, his stubborn side (or as I like to call "Independence"), has really started to take the forefront. He dresses himself, helps himself to his own snacks, clears his plate after meals and even can turn on and search YouTube. He also likes to argue in a constructive matter of course, to give all 50 sides to why he should be allowed to eat a cookie before dinner, or why he should be able to finish his show before bath time.
His latest faves are APPLES. any color, anytime. He can go through kilos of apples if you let him. He also loves all sweets. He's picky about vegetables, but if you can name a superhero who also eats brocoli, you're almost gauranteed he will eat it with pleasure. He loves his action figures and of course, his "autos"
I love how when we get in the car, the first thing he asks for is to turn up the music. And of course I love even more when I see him wiggling in his seat to the beat from the rear view mirror.
I have to say, Lyric can be the most precious and sweet boy you will ever meet. He comes to me at random moments to cover me with a blanket, or to give me a kiss on the cheek. He melts my heart everytime he says I look like a princess. These are the times and moments I don't ever want to lose.
I am so proud of him at 5 years, I can't even imagine what the next 5 will be like.

Monkey!!!

Lyric is 4 1/2 now and you can really see his personality shine!  As he finishes up his summer this month and gets ready to start his new school in Kindergarten. He loves learning . Painting. Drawing. Music. Dancing. Cars . Planes. Trains. And of course...his cartoons. Cereal with yogurt for breaksfast amd fruit all day long. he loves helping Rodrigo make asados and hanging out with his uncle Mana. He's a genius and kinda obsessed with phones and tablets.  He's so excited to be having a baby sister in a few months.
My little Lyric is not so little anymore. ..bittersweet.

Lyric has left the terrible 2's and has entered into the "threatening 3's". He really likes to test his boundaries and is becoming more independent each day. He's a great big brother, and helps whenever he can. From grabbing a wetwipe for me, holding a bottle, picking up a dropped pacifier or rocking Gael to sleep.
In school, Lyric is doing well, and is learning so much. He has really picked up on spanish, and that has become his primary language. Although he understands everything in both languages, I think he feels more comfortable speaking spanish.

Lyric's 3rd Birthday!

Wow! I can't believe 3 years have gone by already. For Lyric's birthday, he had a little party in his school with cupcakes and later we had a dinner at our house and cake with the family. Saturday Lyric had a party, 8 of his friends came to the party. He had a great time!

Sick Baby...

Lyric was sent home from school yesterday with a fever. The medicine works, but it has been 24 hours and it still keeps coming back after the medicine wears off. We're cuddling in bed watching Curious George today...good thing it's Saturday.

New things today!

Today Lyric started his first day at his new preschool. I stayed with him for 2 hours and the last half hour he was alone. He did very well. He loved playing outside, and was very interested in the little farm they had with chickens and ducks and bunnies and a rooster. There are a total of 12 toddlers age 2 in his class. I think the adjustment will be a smooth one for him.

When we returned home from "Jardin de Moro" (his preschool) for lunch, we were suprised by the mailman who had Lyric's permanent resident card! So officially, Lyric is Argentino. (mommy is still waiting on her card...)
